We regularly dine at Max A Mia and other Max Group restaurants. Usually it's ho-hum nice dining, but nothing outstanding, in the eyes of some jaded regulars. Of course we could always commend their home-made pappardelle which is outstanding. However, the new chef has made a major difference for vegetarians. Previously, I could always find a pasta or flatbread and a salad, but little regard was paid to balanced diet or sources of protein. Last night I had a Quinoa salad with roasted beets, goat cheese, brussels sprouts, pomegranate, with a pistachio vinaigrette and pappardelle pasta with escarole and portobello mushrooms with a light cream sauce which the chef whipped up for me and a side of roasted cauliflower, romesco, and marcona almonds. This was hands down the best vegetarian meal I have ever eaten at a Max Group restaurant, and needless to say most of the pasta got brought home as it was far too much to eat. The carnivore in our group had the scallops with escarole, white beans, and pine nuts with an extremely delicate cream sauce. The scallops were sweet and the entire meal was terrific. Incidentally, our vegetarian has eyes on the scallop dish to adapt it to a vegetarian diet. We're dreaming of our next visit.

We love the food and so thankful they have gluten free and casein free options for my child that has dietary restrictions.
